Viewers of this week’s edition of Channel One TV‘s popular entertainment talk show, The Chat, were left spellbound by a magical live performance from rap legend Okyeame Kwame.
As the show’s special guest, Okyeame Kwame took centre stage not for an interview, but for a full-fledged live performance with his band.
The energy in the studio was electric as Okyeame Kwame launched into a medley of his biggest hits.
One of the peaks of his performance was when he performed his monster hit ‘No Competition’ which features Kuami Eugene.
Okyeame Kwame is regarded as one of the pioneers of Hiplife. His dual roles as an artiste and an activist have led to his recognition as an “artivist.”
The rap legend won the Ghana Music Awards Group of the Year and Hiplife Song of the Year in 2000 with his then-group, Akyeame.
However, the group split and the Rap Dacta never gave up but came back stronger as a solo artiste to win the Artiste of the Year award in 2009.
His performance on The Chat perfectly showcased his stage presence and solidified his status as a Ghanaian musical legend.
The Chat which is hosted by Ekow Koomson airs every Saturday on Channel One TV from 6:30 pm to 8 pm.
