Afrobeats star Kelvyn Boy has revealed the transformative influence of his chart-topping song, “Down Flat.”
According to Kelvyn Boy, although all his songs contributed to his income, it was the standout track ‘Down Flat’ that truly became a turning point in his life.
In a post on X, the celebrated musician articulating the profound impact the song had on him expressed, “All my songs before ‘Down Flat’ ensured there was food on the table, but ‘Down Flat’ changed my life. But you knew that.”
‘Down Flat’ released in 2022 was adjudged the ‘Highlife Song of the Year’ at the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in 2023.
The song which was composed in less than 20 minutes and was released to rave review trended on TikTok after a dancer created choreography for it. This took the song to new levels.
Known in real life as Kelvyn Brown, Kelvyn Boy who hails from Assin Fosu in the Central Region was signed to Burniton Music Group owned by Stonebwoy and due to some controversies, left the label in the year 2019.
Apart from ”Down Flat’ he is also known for monster hits like “Mea'” ” Kpo K3k3″, and “Yawa No Dey ”
