McDan Aviation has expressed disappointment over a decision by the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) to deny the company access to its Fixed Base Operator (FBO) terminal, despite ongoing discussions aimed at addressing the issues in question.
In a statement signed by Kwaku Ampromfi, Chief Executive Officer of the McDan Group, the company acknowledged its financial obligations related to the operation of the FBO terminal and stated that significant payments had already been made.
Additionally, McDan Aviation disclosed that an extra payment was made last week, with plans in place to continue payments from January 2025.
The statement refuted claims that the company owes GACL US$3 million, describing such reports as inaccurate.
The company also addressed an ongoing legal dispute concerning a parcel of land acquired from GACL on Spintex Road in Accra. A third-party litigation issue has resulted in court proceedings, and McDan Aviation clarified that payments related to the land remain on hold pending the resolution of the court case—a situation GACL is fully aware of.
“It is regrettable that GACL has chosen this course of action, especially given that the matters at hand are unrelated,” the statement read.
McDan Aviation reiterated its commitment to constructive dialogue and expressed hope for an amicable resolution to the ongoing issues.
