MTN Ghana has distributed 40 baby hampers to nursing mothers at three hospitals in the Western Region.
The hamper contains; newborn clothing, detergents, toys, blankets as well as personal care items.
“The Baby Hamper Distribution project, is a shining example of MTN’s dedication to giving back to the community. We are happy to be supporting mothers of new born babies at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, Essikado Hospital and the Takoradi Hospital, to put smile of their faces” Prince Owusu Nyarko, Regional Senior Manager South West of MTN has said.
According to him, 2024 Baby Hamper Distribution project, is flagship initiative that embodies the spirit of giving and caring that defines MTN.
He explained that the project, which was launched in 2011, offers MTN staff a unique opportunity to volunteer their time and make a tangible difference in the lives of families with newborns during the Christmas season.
“Implemented across all 16 regions of Ghana after a few years, we have distributed over 3,500 hampers to date. This year, 30 health facilities will benefit from this initiative in all 16 regions”, he said.
Mr. Nyarko continued that “building on the success of last year’s distribution of 500 hampers, we are distributing 600 hampers across all regions”.
He said “the project showcases the human face of the MTN brand, demonstrating our commitment to caring for the well-being of Ghanaians. By providing essential items to families with newborns, we aim to alleviate some of the pressures associated with caring for a new life”.
He concluded that: “we are proud to reiterate the caring side of our brand during this yuletide season”.
