By Rita Adu BOATENG
A little over 17years ago, I started my career in Corporate Ghana as a wide – eyed young lady who was expecting nothing short of an excellent career.
I was one of the five candidates who had gone through a rigorous interview and assessment process to be recruited and given the opportunity to start my career as a graduate trainee with one of the prestigious institutions in Ghana.
I had huge expectations for myself and my career. From my naive perspective, I simply believed that my excellent academic record and my commitment to get the job were the only recipe needed to catapult me to the C-Suite.
I got the shock of my life incredibly early on in my career when I realized there is more to the dynamics of building a successful career, especially within big multinational companies. My experiences and learnings from my years of navigating the corporate environment to grow from an entry-level graduate trainee to a C-Suite Business Executive is what has inspired and motivated me to set up Chalom Hights.
Chalom Hights is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to fostering the personal and professional growth of young females. We believe that every young woman deserves the opportunity to pursue her dreams with the confidence and support she needs. Our mission is to create a nurturing environment where these individuals can access mentorship, resources, and guidance that will accelerate their journey toward success.
At Chalom Hights, we focus on equipping young females with essential leadership skills, career development tools, and the confidence to take bold steps in their personal and professional lives.
Our mentorship programmes pair participants with experienced professionals who provide personalized guidance, helping them navigate challenges, set meaningful goals, and pursue their aspirations. We also offer a wealth of resources, from workshops to networking opportunities, designed to empower our audience at every stage of their development.
Our commitment to empowering young females goes beyond traditional career coaching. We aim to inspire a generation of leaders who are confident in their abilities, resilient in the face of adversity, and ready to make a positive impact in their communities.
Through the collective strength of our mentors, partners, and community members, Chalom Hights strives to be a catalyst for change, ensuring that the next generation of female leaders is prepared to excel and have influence in their professional careers.
My goal at the end of the day, is to see young females excel in whatever career choices they may have. There is the need to understand your limitations and strengths and know how to dial up those strengths to position you within any corporate organization you find yourself.
I am looking at building a community of empowered young females across diverse demographics and socio-economic background and give them the needed support, counselling, coaching and mentorship.
Follow Chalom Hights on all social media and let us start building the most amazing and impactful online community dedicated to empowering and supporting females looking at building successful careers in Corporate Ghana. The time is Now! Let us go.
