Eunice Asantewaa Ankomah, a Corporate Communications Strategist, has been recognised with the Industry Spotlight Award in Corporate Communications at this year’s National Communications Awards.
The award acknowledges individuals who have made significant contributions to the industry by setting high standards in strategic communication, public relations, and media engagement.
With over 10 years of experience in the communications industry, Eunice has built a distinguished career as a Chartered Public Relations Practitioner (MCIPR) and Certified Digital Finance Practitioner (CDFP).
Her expertise lies in leading initiatives that drive consensus, enhance visibility, and boost customer engagement for brands, particularly within the financial technology sector.
Eunice has been at the forefront of significant advancements in Ghana’s digital financial services, playing a key role in the development and implementation of communication and go-to-market strategies for transformative digital payment initiatives such as Ghana’s Universal QR Code, Mobile Money Interoperability, GhanaPay Mobile Money and the country’s Instant Payment Solution. These projects have not only contributed to the nation’s financial inclusion goals but have also driven digital transformation on a broader scale.
Eunice oversees the development and execution of both internal and external communication strategies for GhIPSS. She collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to create impactful campaigns that resonate with the general banking public, simplifying complex financial technology concepts for easier comprehension and adoption.
Beyond her corporate achievements, Eunice is passionate about digital financial literacy. She is an active writer, sharing insights on digital financial services through her Fintech PR Newsletter on LinkedIn.
As a columnist for Ghanaweb, News Ghana, Business & Financial Times (BFT), and other news platforms, she provides valuable education on digital financial services. Eunice is also a co-founder of Global Women in Digital Finance and a co-convener of the Women in Digital Finance Forum, initiatives that aim to empower and support women in the digital finance sector.
In addition to her writing and advocacy work, Eunice serves as the Financial Coordinator for Women in PR Ghana and the Deputy Secretary for Digital Finance Practitioners Ghana.
She also volunteers as the Communications Team Lead at the African Foundation for Premature and Newborn Care (AFPNC), where she advocates for the interests of preterm and newborn infants and their families across Africa.
Eunice holds a Master of Philosophy degree in Communications and Media Studies, a degree in English, and a Certification in Digital Finance and Inclusive Instant Payment. As a Gender Changemaker, she continues to break barriers and inspire others in her field.
