As we approach the year’s end, we tend to be in a reflective mindset. We tend to look at where we are versus all the things we said we would achieve. This is a time to thank the good Lord for how far we have come. However, I also know from experience that this time of the year is a time that people can get low in spirit because they focus on what they haven’t achieved. We need to learn to shift our focus. Granted, we may not have ticked all the boxes that we wanted to, but if we look back, we may be surprised at the things that we have managed to achieve during the past year.
I do try to advise people how to target their goals, but I equally advise people not to be fixated on the timelines because unforeseen circumstances, even challenges, come to meet us all.
As long as there is life, there is hope. In the book of Ecclesiastes, we are reminded that in God’s time, he makes all things beautiful. It is my belief that so long as we do our part and keep striving, we shall eventually succeed in our endeavours. We just need to exercise some patience.
We may not be where we want to be, but we are not where we could be. All is not lost. We need to stay committed to our dreams and put a plan in place.
