
Western Regional Minister Joseph Nelson is urging the Muslim community to continue fostering peaceful coexistence with other religions.
Speaking at the Sekondi Methodist Park, where he joined the Muslim community to celebrate the end of Ramadan, the Minister commended them for maintaining a peaceful environment among their counterparts.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Sekondi Armah Blay Nyameke, announced that plans are underway to commission the Islamic clinic in Sekondi Zongo, a promise he made during his campaign.
Eid al-Fitr is a significant celebration in Islam, marking the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting, reflection, and spiritual growth.
Muslims around the world observe this day to express gratitude for the blessings of Ramadan and demonstrate generosity by giving to those in need.
It’s a time for families and communities to come together, strengthen bonds, and celebrate with feasts, gifts, and festivities. The day is filled with joy, love, and a sense of accomplishment after a month of fasting and spiritual devotion.
Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson addressed the Muslim congregation at Sekondi Methodist Park, emphasizing the importance of preserving the spiritual benefits of fasting during Ramadan.
He urged them to maintain a peaceful environment and continue to coexist harmoniously with people of other faiths.
“May the blessings of Ramadan remain with us throughout the year. Let us hold sacred the lessons of fasting and continue to live in harmony with one another, regardless of our faiths. By doing so, we will build a more united and peaceful nation”.
“My dear brothers and sisters, let us remain one and continue to coexist harmoniously with people of all faiths.” He said.
The Zongo chief who speaks on the behalf of the chiefs reiterate that is time the politicians seek for the development of the youth.
On his side the Member of Parliament for Sekondi Armah Blay Nyameke, announced that plans are underway to commission the Islamic clinic in Sekondi zongo, as he promised during 2024 campaign.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for participating in the fasting period. We are well aware of the challenges that come with fasting, but we also understand the significance and purpose behind it”.
“We fast to strengthen our bond, promote peace, and ultimately, to protect and serve the best interests of our community here in Sekondi. Thank you again for your dedication and commitment.”

On enhancing the health infrastructure and quality healthcare in the constituency, the Member of Parliament emphasized the importance of investing in healthcare facilities to achieve universal health coverage.
“I’m committed to improving the health infrastructure and quality healthcare in our constituency. As promised during my campaign, we’ve made significant progress in developing the Sekondi health center, which is nearing completion.
” My plan is to equip the clinic with necessary equipment and personnel to ensure it’s fully functional”.
“Additionally, we’re working on adding a maternity block to serve the women of Zongo, providing them with access to quality healthcare services. I’m hopeful that these projects will be completed by the end of this year, and I’m eager to see the positive impact they’ll have on our community”.
The western Regional Chief Imam Sheik Suleiman Ahmed Mozu said a world of prayers for the western Regional minister and the country at large.
