A gun attack by unidentified assailants at a drinking spot in the Binduri District of the Upper East Region has left two people dead and four others injured.
The incident occurred on Sunday night, March 24, 2024, near the Binduri market, sending shockwaves through the community.
According to security sources, the attackers stormed the drinking spot on motorbikes and opened fire, killing two people on the spot.
Four others sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, but security sources suspect it may be linked to the protracted Bawku chieftaincy conflict, which has fueled sporadic violence in the region.
Security agencies have launched an investigation and are making efforts to apprehend the perpetrators.
