Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has cautioned against premature celebrations, insisting it’s too early to think about securing a spot at the 2026 World Cup, as there’s still work to be done.
Ghana faces Madagascar in Morocco for their next World Cup qualifier, with the first leg having ended in Ghana’s favor. While many believe a win could put either side in pole position for qualification, Addo remains grounded.
“Nobody should be thinking about the World Cup yet. We need to take it step by step. It’s very, very important that we stay focused until the job is done,” he said.
Ghana currently leads Group I with 12 points, with Madagascar close behind on 10.
With five matches played, a victory for the Black Stars would strengthen their chances, but Addo insists the team must remain focused on the task ahead.
