
President John Mahama met with outgoing heads of various security services whose tenure in office ended following appointment of new heads.
However, when the President met with outgoing security heads on Monday, March 17, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the outgone Inspector General of Police, was notably absent.
Reason for his absence remains unknown.
The former head of the Ghana Prisons Service, Isaac Kofi Egyir, former boss of the Ghana National Fire Service, Julius A. Kuunuor and Kwame Asuah Takyi, former head of of the Immigration Service who were all relieved of their positions were present at the meeting except Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
The meeting follows the appointment of COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Inspector General of Police, DGP 3 Patience Baffoe-Bonnie as Director-General of Prisons, DCFO Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong as Chief Fire Officer, and DCI Samuel Basentale Amadu as Comptroller-General of Immigration.
In a post on Facebook on Monday, March 17, President Mahama expressed his sincere appreciation to the outgoing officers while showing gratitude for their service to the nation.
