Mustapha Foyo Gbande, the Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused the public officers and appointees of former President Akufo-Addo’s government as unpatriotic.
He stated, that although “they are our NPP brothers and sisters, but they were possessed with witchcraft because the things they have done to us, without thinking about the consequences and implications, is an indication of witchcraft. It is witchcraft. A lot of the public officers and appointees of former President Akufo-Addo are complete witches with witchcrafts.”
Speaking passionately in an interview with Nana Yaa Brefo on Onua FM on January 9, Gbande expressed disbelief over the actions of the NPP administration, claiming that many of the decisions taken by Akufo-Addo’s appointees were malicious and aimed at creating difficulties for the NDC government, undermine the NDC’s efforts and create unnecessary challenges.
According to Gbande, it is mindboggling why the government that had lost an election would leave behind an energy sector in crisis which is underscored by a report from the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo), which revealed that nearly $90 million is urgently needed to avert a looming power crisis, especially when those actions have direct implications for the well-being of Ghanaians.
“Why would a government that has lost an election deliberately decide to do something to Ghanaians to make their lives difficult, so that the incoming NDC government will not be able to perform?”
The Deputy General Secretary voiced his belief that the actions of the previous government showed a lack of concern for the country and its citizens.
“The NPP government did not have Ghana at heart, the evil they have done to us… You will ask yourself if it’s indeed our brothers and sisters who have done this to us,” he stated.
Gbande’s comments are sure to provoke further political debates as the country continues to grapple with the transition of power and the challenges that come with it.
As tensions remain high, many will be watching closely to see how these allegations impact the political landscape.
