President John Mahama has assured the youth of the country that his new administration will create decent jobs for them.
According to him, this will be done in collaboration with the business community.
President Mahama gave the assurance when he was sworn in as the sixth president of the 4th republic of Ghana on January 7, 2025 after an overwhelming win on December 7, 2024.
“In this resounding victory, I see a clarion call, particularly from the youth of Ghana, and this moment is a powerful affirmation that your voices matter and that your future must be our priority. Our policies will be tailored to sustain innovation and foster an industry that engages today’s young minds. We will create decent and well-paying jobs in collaboration with the private sector and captains of business,” he promised.
Mr Mahama said this will be achieved through a focus on four key areas
The areas are:
- Economic restoration and stabilisation
- Improvement of the business and investment environment
- Governance and constitutional reforms
- Accountability and the fight against corruption
He assured businesses and investors that Ghana is open for business again, promising a more transparent and fair tax regime to stimulate growth.
“We will rationalise our tax systems to make them fair and transparent. The business community must know that Ghana is open for business again,” he declared.
He added, “Join me in shaping a new business environment.”
