The ten police officers who filed a lawsuit against the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to block their transfers have decided to discontinue their legal challenge.
The officers, led by Sergeant David Ojeyim, initially sought a court order to prevent their transfer directives. They argued that the transfers were arbitrary and lacked justification, undermining their professional stability and violating standard police administrative procedures.
The lawsuit highlighted concerns about the transparency and fairness of the transfer process, demanding accountability from the Police Administration.
However, the officers have now notified the court of their decision to abandon the case, retaining the right to reapply in the future if necessary.
The group includes notable members such as Sergeant Prince Owusu Fayosey, Sergeant Seidu Essilfie, Sergeant Alex Abah, Corporal John Yao Adzimagbor, Corporal Michael Kwasi Avuyi, Corporal Huudu Muhammed Wumbe, Corporal Kabiru Mohammed, Corporal Hannah Antwi-Boasiako, and IC/Inspector Alexander Odoi.
This development brings an end to their legal challenge against the Police Administration’s transfer directives.
