President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said that education, especially in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), holds the key to unlocking the full potential of our nation.
He noted that the world around is changing rapidly. Technology is at the heart of this transformation, driving progress in education, healthcare, agriculture, transportation, industry, and every aspect of the lives of the people, he said.
For Ghana to thrive in this modern era, “we must equip our young people with the tools they need to succeed,” the president wrote on his Facebook page after he commissioned the world-class Accra Stem Academy, in Accra on Friday, 27th December 2024.
He further stated that STEM education is not a choice – it is a necessity.
“This institution is a space where young minds will be inspired to dream big, think critically and solve the problems of tomorrow. A Ghana where our students continue to ??lead systematically breakthroughs in robotics, artificial intelligence and biotechnology.
“We have also embarked on the development of twenty STEM centres and ten model STEM Senior High Schools across the country. These institutions are designed to provide hands-on learning experiences with cutting-edge facilities. From coding to robotics, our students are being prepared for the demands of the 21st century.”
