The festive season came early for the Kwaprow community in the Central Region of Ghana as MiNaK Foundation, a renowned non-governmental organization (NGO), delivered a heartwarming gesture of love and support to over 300 widows and teenage girls.
Under the theme “Love for Kwaprow Community,” the event brought smiles and relief to many just in time for Christmas.
Nana Kwesi Mensah III, the Chief of Kwaprow, expressed his profound gratitude to the Foundation for the thoughtful initiative. “This exercise will ease the burden of most widows in the community and bring joy to their lives,” he remarked during the event. The initiative highlights the foundation’s commitment to addressing the needs of vulnerable individuals in the community.

Speaking to the chief and council, Ms. Doreen Ackom revealed that Kwaprow has been adopted as one of the few communities to benefit from a yearly support exercise. “Next year, we aim to launch an improved initiative, including free mentorship programs to help widows and the youth acquire vital skills,” she added, emphasizing the foundation’s focus on long-term empowerment.
The event featured the distribution of care packages for widows, which included essential items to lighten their daily struggles. Teenage girls in the community received self-care hygiene supplies, promoting personal health and dignity. These thoughtful gifts were accompanied by additional support items, ensuring the outreach addressed various needs.
