Ghanaian artiste Safo Newman has revealed that no song was recorded when he met with Sarkodie in his studio.
A video of the duo in Sarkodie’s studio went viral in February 2024 after Safo expressed gratitude to Sarkodie for acknowledging his craft.
Following their meeting, fans anticipated a song from both artistes with rumours making waves that they were set to release a song later this year.
In an interview on Hitz FM on November 27, the ‘Akokoa’ hitmaker explained that the meeting with Sarkodie was not to specifically collaborate on a song but purely conversational.
He noted that he was only meeting with the rapper to personally thank him for his acknowledgement.
“I thought it wasn’t enough to thank him in his DM but I would like to personally meet him to thank him. So, the time he told me to come he was in a studio rehearsing so that was what happened,” Safo stated.
The sensational artiste is however, optimistic that a collaboration with the rap icon will happen at the right time.
“When I went there, he said we would do something but that place we did not do anything but I think at the right time something will happen…Nothing has happened yet,” Newman added.
Safo Newman reaffirmed that no unreleased project is being held back when asked if his response was to please Sarkodie, who is known for his stringent strategy of keeping collaborations under wraps until official announcement.
