Violent attacks continue to break out in Bawku in the Upper East Region with at least 3 more people killed this week and houses torched in the suburb of Daduri.
Security sources have confirmed the killings are related to the long-standing chieftaincy conflict in the town which resurged last month following the return of a rival chief to the town. The latest deaths increase the death toll to 26.
3news’ Correspondent Castro Senyalah continues to monitor the situation in Bawku.
It is recalled that the Interior Ministry imposed a curfew in Bawku after renewed disturbances linked to the return of Seidu Abagre, the rival chief.
The curfew, which took effect from October 28, is from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily until further notice.
