Niger’s dominant 4-0 victory over Sudan on Thursday in Togo has revived Ghana’s hopes of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Niger’s forward Daniel Sosah, who has Ghanaian heritage, led the charge with two goals, while Ousseini Badamassi and Youssef Oumarou added to Sudan’s woes, leaving Group F open for a dramatic finish.
Angola have already qualified, but Niger’s win means that Sudan, Ghana, and Niger all remain in contention for the remaining spot.
Sudan still hold the advantage, as they need only a point against Angola in their final game to secure qualification.
Ghana, however, face a steep climb, needing a win over Angola on Friday and another victory against Niger, all while hoping Angola defeat Sudan.
Niger, meanwhile, can also hope to clinch a spot by defeating Ghana and relying on Sudan’s loss.
Ghana face Angola at the 11 de Novembro Stadium in Luanda with kickoff at 7 pm local time.
