Six players have been invited to join the Black Stars in camp as they prepare for the remaining 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
This comes in the wake of mass withdrawals that have hit the team as eight key players, including Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, and Alexander Djiku, pulled out from the Black Stars’ roaster for the upcoming fixtures.
In light of this, 3Sports takes a comprehensive look at how the six players have fared for their respective clubs in 2024.
Osman Bukari (Austin FC)
The 25-year-old winger boasts impressive stats, with 4 goals and 6 assists in 25 games. His pace and skill will be invaluable on the flanks. With his ability to impress off the bench or in the starting lineup, Osman Bukari becomes a key figure for Ghana, particularly in the absence of Semenyo and Williams, and his three goals and two assists with the Black Stars showcase his capabilities.
Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer (Hamburger SV)
The 23 -year-old sensation has already scored 5 goals in 14 games in Bundesliga 2, showcasing his clinical finishing. Ransford is expected to add goals to the Black Stars who have just registered one goal in four matches in the AFCON qualifiers.
Forson Amankwaah (Norwich City)
Amankwaah has been key in Norwich’s quest for topflight football next season. In 16 appearances in the English Championship, the midfielder has demonstrated his adaptability and defensive prowess, providing stability in Norwich’s midfield. The 21-year-old midfielder has two assists to his name for the UK-based club.
Kingsley Schindler (Samsunspor)
Schindler’s experience and versatility will be crucial for Ghana, with 1 goal in 13 games for the Turkish outfit, the 31-year-old winger would be needed to replicate his fine club form with the national team.
Terry Yegbe (IF Elfsborg)
The defensive rock has excelled in Sweden, with 3 goals, 1 assist, and impressive defensive stats (18 tackles, 36 interceptions, 100 clearances). Yegbe will bolster Ghana’s backline in the absence of Djiku.
Ebenezer Annan (OFK Beograd)
Annan has been a joy to watch for Beograd in the Serbian league this term. Annan’s set pieces and crossing ability make him a great asset for both club and country. With three assists in 14 games, the fullback is expected to provide width and creativity for the national team when called upon.
As Ghana teeters on the brink of missing their first AFCON in 20 years, Otto Addo would look to his new recruits to inject vitality and inspire a resurgence in the Black Stars’ fortunes.
