The Recording Academy has announced nominations for various categories for the 2025 and 67th Grammys award.
The 2025 GRAMMYs takes place on Sunday, February 2, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Nominations were put out by the Recording Academy on Friday, November 8, 2024 with prominent global artistes listed in the major categories.
For Africans, the striking moment was when Nigerian artistes stood out in the Best African Music Performance Category with all five nominees being Nigerians.
The nominees includes; Buna Boy (Higher), Tems (Love Me Jeje), Yemi Alade (Tomorrow), Asake &Wizkid (MMS) and Chris Brown featuring Davido & Lojay with ‘Sensational’.

Ghanaian Afro-Roots musician, Rocky Dawuni, has also been nominated in 2025 Grammy Awards for the Best Global Music Performance.
This is the fourth time Rocky has been nominated in the prestigious award scheme.
In 2022, his ‘Voice of Bunbon Vol. 1’ album also got a nomination in the Best Global Music Album category.
