On Wednesday, October 16, the Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia met with stakeholders in the creative arts sector at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
The meeting was to present a platform for stakeholders to interact with Dr. Bawumia, discuss pertinent issues affecting their sectors, and explore potential policies to boost the creative economy.
Speaking to stakeholders, Dr. Bawumia underscored the need for an indigenous solution to support Ghanaian musicians and filmmakers to earn more money for their work.
One hilarious moment during the meeting occurred when Shatta Wale asked a question and pleaded with the Vice president to respond in pidgin.

His reason was to allow the “ghetto” and “street” youth understand the response from Dr. Bawumia as his question was based on such persons.
“I want to know what you have for our fans out there…and that’s the street…And your excellency I will please plead with you when you want to respond to what am saying, for today and the people out there on the street, just say it in pidgin small for me,” Shatta Wale asked with a lot of humour.
The Vice President and the flagbearer of the ruling party also answered the question in pidgin.
“Wetin you say,” Dr. Bawumia begun.
“The thing be say me wey idey politics, the thing wey dey my heart be the people wey dey suffer for the country. Ibi in wey dey my heart…my heart e dey the street,” Dr. Bawumia said in pidgin.
