Western Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Nana Kojo Toku, has urged party members to unite and intensify campaign efforts to win the upcoming elections in Kwesimintsim constituency.
He stressed the importance of teamwork for victory.
Kwesimintsim Constituency, one of 17 in the Western Region, boasts a voter population of over 50,000. Historically, this constituency has been a New Patriotic Party (NPP) stronghold since its creation from the Effia Kwesimintsim constituency.
In the 2020 general elections, NPP’s Dr. Prince Hamidu Armah secured 24,759 votes representing 64.91%, while NDC’s Lawyer Fiifi Buckman garnered 13,385 votes representing 35.09%
Speaking at the campaign launch of the NDC parliamentary candidate, Nana Kojo Toku urged party members to unite and work tirelessly.
Nana Toku emphasized the importance of collective effort to overturn the voting disparity and secure victory in this year’s elections.
“We’ve been facing consecutive electoral losses in this constituency, with a significant gap of 11,000 votes in the 2020 elections. To reverse this trend, it’s crucial we unite as one unit, putting aside our differences and working tirelessly as party members. Our path to victory in the December elections depends on collective effort and dedication. We must come together to campaign vigorously, leveraging our strengths and addressing our weaknesses to bridge the gap and secure a win.”
Some National and regional executives of the party have expressed concerns about the underdevelopment of Kwesimintsim constituency. Despite being a stronghold of the New Patriotic Party.

Deputy Minority Leader and MP for Ellembelle Constituency Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, is urging constituents to vote for a candidate who can effectively represent their interests and bring about much-needed development.
According to Buah, Lawyer Philip Fiifi Buckman stands out as the ideal candidate, possessing the skills and vision required to drive progress in the constituency.
