Monaco defender Mohammed Salisu has been included in UEFA’s Champions League Gameweek Two Team of the Week.
The Ghanaian’s first-ever goal in the Champions League and his first for Monaco, came from a corner-kick with 15 minutes before the final whistle, setting up a gut-wrenching finish in Zagreb.
Salisu’s goal sparked Monaco’s comeback on Wednesday night as his goal rejuvenated and helped them to earn a point against Dinamo Zagreb.
Denis Zakaria tucked home from 12 yards as Monaco preserved their unbeaten start to the Champions League season after beating Barcelona 2-1 in their first game.
The Black Stars centre-back was named alongside PSV’s Ryan Flamingo as the central defensive pair, with Atalanta’s Davide Zappacosta (LB), Lille’s Tiago Santos (RB) and Aston Villa’s goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez making up the back four.
