Ghanaian striker Felix Afena-Gyan has joined Juventus Next Gen, the reserve team of Serie A club Juventus, on a season-long loan from Cremonese.
This transfer, finalised on deadline day, marks a notable shift for Afena-Gyan, who has faced challenges after a promising start to his career.
Afena-Gyan first gained attention with AS Roma, where he scored six goals in just five Primavera (U-19) matches.
He made his Serie A debut in October 2021, and later that month, he scored twice against Genoa, becoming the first player born in 2003 to score in the league. This performance earned him a contract extension with Roma until 2026.
He joined Cremonese in August 2022, but struggled for consistent opportunities, netting three goals and providing one assist in 36 appearances.
The move to Juventus Next Gen, which competes in Serie C Group C, is seen as a chance for Afena-Gyan to revitalize his career.
He will play home games at Stadio La Marmora-Pozzo in Biella, hoping to regain his form and make an impact.
