The Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged to take immediate action to fix the deteriorating Adjen Kotoku road, following concerns raised by Archbishop John Bonaventure Kwofie, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra.
During his tour of the ongoing construction of the Legacy of Hope Pediatric and Childhood Cancer Hospital at Adjen Kotoku, in the Amasaman Constituency, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged the challenges posed by the poor state of the road. He expressed his personal concerns after experiencing the condition of the road firsthand.
“When I got on the road coming here, I was a little worried. How do we transport sick children here with all these bumps on the road?” Dr. Bawumia said, emphasizing the need for swift intervention.
He further assured the community of his commitment to prioritizing the rehabilitation of the road. “We need this road done, and so I am going to put my effort on it for us to get it done. We need to resolve this matter on this road.”
Archbishop Kwofie had earlier appealed to the Vice President to address the road issue, citing the difficulties it posed for the transportation of patients and the overall development of the area.
Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to fixing the road has been welcomed by residents and stakeholders in the community, who see it as a critical step toward improving access to essential healthcare services.
