Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President and NPP Flagbearer, has appealed to Ghanaian youth during the launch of the NPP Manifesto in Takoradi on Sunday to vote for him come December 7.
Addressing a crowd energized by his vision, Bawumia emphasized the transformative potential of his candidacy for the future of Ghana.
In a direct appeal to the youth, Bawumia outlined his goals and policies, highlighting the central role he envisions for young people in his agenda. “To the youth of our country, please lend me your ears,” he urged, outlining his track record, integrity, and plans for bold solutions to advance their future.
“Our nation stands at a crossroads as we approach the December 2024 elections,” Bawumia noted. “I believe I am best positioned to serve as your next President.”
Citing his experience and accomplishments over the past seven years, Bawumia described himself as a problem-solving leader, crediting his tenure with President Akufo-Addo for addressing key issues in public service.
He emphasized his integrity and ability to implement effective solutions, underscoring his career’s focus on competence and results—from his academic background to his roles at the Bank of Ghana, the African Development Bank, and as Vice President.
Bawumia asserted that his proven capability to manage and deliver results distinguishes him from other candidates. “As an experienced professional with impeccable credentials, I am ready to apply my expertise to national governance, driven by a commitment to transformation,” he declared.
Acknowledging ongoing challenges such as youth unemployment, Bawumia vowed to build on economic progress to create more job opportunities. “To the Gen Zs, I am your ‘plug’ to a prosperous Ghana and decent-paying jobs,” he promised, pledging leadership rooted in integrity, compassion, and sincerity.
Concluding his address, Bawumia presented his 2024 manifesto, framing it as a document of hope and opportunity: “It is ‘giving’ hope, ‘giving’ vibes, and ‘giving’ jobs,” he stated.
