TUC to establish Labour Bank

The Trade Union Congress (TUC) is to set up a Ghana Labour Bank.

The bank is to provide soft loans to all members under of the Trade Union Congress.

Secretary General of TUC, Dr Yaw Baah disclosed this when he spoke the 11th Quadrennial Conference of the GPRTU at Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region.

“Yesterday, the TUC General Council met, and we have agreed that we are going to set up a Ghana Labour Bank”.

“The Labour Bank will serve two purposes by providing loans for our members so that you can either procure a house or purchase a vehicle,” he explained.

The Trade Union Congress has taken this decision to complement efforts of banks in issuing loans to workers.

Further discussions on the matter are expected to be completed before the end of this year.
