Ghana defender Alexander Djiku played a significant role in the Fernabahce’s win over Kayserispor in the Turkish Superlig.
The centre-back was on target with a great strike on Sunday helping his team continue to pile the pressure on leaders Galatasaray.
The game began with sheer determination on the part of Fernabahce who remained dominant in front of their home crowd.
Former Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi with a strong left-footed strike put his team in front thanks to a diligent pass from Dusan Tadic in the 18th minute.
Djiku later came through with a few minutes to half-time sending in a stellar striker from the tight angle to the far post to double the lead.
The Turkish giants sealed the victory courtesy of Caglar Soyuncu’s goal in the 59th minute.
Despite the victory, Galatasaray’s comeback win over Karagumruk means Fernabahce can only settle for second place.
