Takyi had a relatively easier fight against South Africa’s Paul Masamba in the light Welterweight class, earning a victory via a majority call (4-1). The 2020 Olympic Games medalist has his eyes on the big prize.
“It’s the time for me [to win gold]. I’ve been in the semis twice and I lost those bouts. I’ve come back stronger and this time I won my semi-final match. I’m going to make it and I know my God is with me. I’m going to take gold on Friday,” Takyi told 3Sports.
The trio join Joseph Commey and Mohammed Aryeetey in the finals. All five boxers will compete for the ultimate on Friday.
