Defending champions Medeama SC secured a vital victory over Aduana Stars on Thursday morning after rain halted play during the first half on Wednesday in a crucial Ghana Premier League encounter.
With only the second half left to be played due to the downpour interruption at the Akoon Community Park, Medeama SC demonstrated their resilience and quality on the field.
Goals from Michael Enu and Derrick Fordjour ensured a 2-0 win over Aduana Stars, propelling Medeama up the league table.
The champions exhibited their dominance as midfielder Michael Enu broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute, before Derrick Fordjour sealed victory with an injury-time goal, leaving the Fire Club unable to respond.
With this victory, Medeama SC have now climbed to the same points tally as giants Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, all on 32 points with 13 games remaining in the season for the defending champions.
Meanwhile, Aduana Stars maintains their third position on the league table, trailing leaders FC Samartex 1996 by just three points. As the league progresses, both teams will be looking to maintain their momentum and secure their positions in the league standings.
