Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia promised the family government will be well represented at the funeral
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on behalf of government donated GH¢5,000 to the family of the late Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong (KABA) for the one-week celebration.
Vice President Bawumia graced Saturday’s celebration held at the forecourt of Multimedia.
He was accompanied by some government functionaries including a Deputy Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.
Others like Minister of Trades and Industry Alan Kyerematen had been in attendance earlier in the day.
The donated amount is meant to help in preparations for the funeral ceremony, which he promised will be attended by leading members of the government.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) was also represented at the ceremony. They were led by National Youth Organiser Sammi Awuku.
The NPP donated GH¢2,000 for the one-week celebration.
Other political parties such as the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the People’s National Convention (PNC) also sent delegations to the ceremony.
Known radio and television personalities were also present.

KABA died exactly a week ago at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, where he was rushed to after complaining of ill-health.
Until his death, he was the host of Asempa FM’s mid-afternoon show Ekosii Sen.
He is scheduled to be buried on December 16.
He was survived by a wife and a daughter, who is just seven months old.
