He said the Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing and its key agencies such as the Water Resources Commission, Community Water and Sanitation Agency , Ghana Water Company Limited, Hydrological Services Division, Rent Control Division and the Public Works Department would be strengthened to provide quality and affordable water to the people.

This was contained in the annual budget policy and economic statement for the year 2013, presented by Mr Seth Terkper, Minister of Finance to Parliament on Tuesday.
Whilst the majority in Parliament have hailed the budget as a “pragmatic and realistic†vision to build an equitable society and a strong indication of the glowing performance of the country’s economy over that last year, the minority caucus have described the financial statement as “a journey to nowhereâ€Â.
The event is normally marked as statutory public Day and characterised by parades by school children, security personnel, workers and other identifiable bodies at the Black Stars Square, in Accra and throughout the country.
He appealed to residents to have confidence in the personnel and provide them with needed information to track and arrest criminals in their communities.
Mr Stephen Segbefia, the Regional sales officer of the company, who presented the drinks, said it was part of their social responsibility to partner government in all activities that would promote national cohesion and development.

“As part of effort to find solution to the TOR debt, government in 2010 made a payment of GH¢445 million to Ghana Commercial Bank to help reduce the debt and in March 2011, restructured the TOR debt by securitising the debt through the issue of medium term government bonds,†he added.
