It said 51 pump action guns, 16 single barrel guns, 11 AK 47 rifles, 6 pistols, two double barrel guns and a total of 2,708 of ammunitions were found in the possession of civilians in various parts of the country.
He said delayed and unreported human rights abuse denied victims from justice and contributed to increase in such abuses and violence in the communities.
The event, held last night at the Jubilee Park in Tamale under the theme: "Election 2012; seeking the Peace of the Land through Cooperate Prayer," was attended by people from all walks of life, who amidst song ministrations, prayed and called on God to take charge of the management of the elections to ensure that all went successfully.
He said: "We could help Ghana by asking God to provide faithful parliamentarians and a president who would unite all parties under the laws of God and the Constitution of Ghana."
He said a healthy and peaceful atmosphere was needed for successful elections in Ghana.

The event, under the theme: “Our God Who Began It Will Accomplish It,†climaxed a week-long activity of worship and thanksgiving, the proceeds of which would be donated to vulnerable institutions.

The investment, which had assisted 150 nucleus and 225 out-grower farmers as well as 500 porters popularly called “Kayaye†with a monthly salary of GH¢300 aims at promoting dry season farming and all year round agricultural activities in the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions to facilitate economic growth.
She said “elections are as good as accepting the results†and that people should be civil enough to claim victory or defeat to give the Ghanaian democracy a plus.
Mr Ampratwum made the call when he addressed a debate organised for parliamentary candidates in the EKumfi Constituency at Ekumfi Essarkyir near Mankessim in the Central Region.
He said politicians must also foster peace and bring about development of the country.
