The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Prosper Harrison Addo, has expressed the football community's appreciation to Malta Guinness for its support of women's football as headline sponsor of the Ghana Women's Premier League over the past four years.
According to Addo, the partnership has played a key role in supporting and promoting women's football in Ghana, helping to raise the profile and competitiveness of the league during the sponsorship period.
Since becoming headline sponsor, Malta Guinness has contributed to the growth of the women's game through financial support, branding, increased visibility and promotional activities aimed at developing the competition.
Speaking on behalf of the GFA and the wider football community, Addo thanked the beverage company for its commitment to the women's game.
He noted that the sponsorship, which comes to an end in June, has made a significant contribution to the development of the Women's Premier League and the progress of women's football in the country.
The GFA also acknowledged Malta Guinness' role in providing a stronger platform for players and clubs to gain recognition both locally and internationally.
The conclusion of the sponsorship agreement marks the end of an important chapter for the Women's Premier League, which has enjoyed increased attention, improved competitiveness and growing interest from football fans across Ghana during the partnership.
Despite the end of the current agreement, the GFA remains optimistic about future collaboration with Malta Guinness. The association indicated that discussions between both parties have been positive and that the company could continue to play a significant role in Ghana football in the coming season.
The Ghana Football Association is expected to announce a new sponsorship package for the Women's Premier League ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
