Defending champions Western Region advanced to their second straight KGL U-17 Inter-Regional Championship final with a hard-fought 1â0 victory over Central Region on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.
A clinical 55th-minute strike from Ramzy Duah proved the difference, sending Western Region into another title showdown and making them the first reigning champions to qualify for consecutive finals in the tournament’s history.
Having finished second behind Greater Accra in Group A, Western Region will now set their sights on Saturday’s championship decider at the McDan Teshie Sports Complex, where they will face Ashanti Region in what promises to be a thrilling battle for the 2025 crown.
Now in its fifth edition, the KGL U-17 Inter-Regional Championship has firmly established itself as Ghana’s premier platform for discovering and nurturing young football talent.
The 2025 competition showcases an expanded 12-team lineup, uniting all ten Regional Football Associations with the two GFA Elite Academies, ensuring both competitive depth and nationwide representation.
Supported by a landmark five-year, $1 million sponsorship from the KGL Foundation, the championship remains central to the Ghana Football Association’s grassroots development strategy, driving talent identification, safeguarding player welfare, and inspiring the next generation of Ghanaian football stars.
