Hearts of Oak striker Hamza Issah has called on fans of the club to show strong support for the team in the upcoming GHALCA Top Four tournament following their impressive victory in the Gbese Mantse Cup.
The Phobians delivered a solid performance to beat Heart of Lions 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, securing back-to-back wins in the annual fixture.
The result marked a bright start to their pre-season campaign as they prepare for the new football season.
New signing Frank Abora Duku opened the scoring in the 39th minute with a close-range finish before Issah doubled the lead shortly after, finishing off a swift counterattack to seal the win for Hearts.
Both goals came in the first half, and despite Lions’ spirited play in the second period, the Phobians maintained their advantage to lift the trophy once again.
Issah, who was instrumental in the victory, expressed his delight and used the occasion to rally supporters ahead of the next challenge.
“I feel very excited, I’m happy that we won the trophy because it has been a dream to win it,” he said. “I am urging the supporters to come and rally behind the team in the GHALCA Top Four just like they did in the Gbese Mantse Cup.”
Hearts will now shift focus to the Top Four tournament, which also features Asante Kotoko, Gold Stars and Heart of Lions.
