Management of Africa’s leading provider of business information, Business and Financial Times (B&FT), has paid a courtesy call on the leading pan-African financial service provider, Letshego Ghana Savings and Loans.
The delegation from B&FT, led by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Godwin Acquaye, expressed their utmost appreciation to Letshego for their partnership; and discussed how they can explore further collaborations in the upcoming year.
Dr. Acquaye, in his introductory remarks, also pledged B&FT’s support in “ensuring a lasting and mutual relationship between both companies.”
He also took the opportunity to congratulate Letshego for listing on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE), adding that “it indicates how well the company is performing”.
For his part, the CEO of Letshego, Nii Amankra Tetteh, also expressed positive remarks about the relationship that exists between the companies and stressed improvements for better prospects in the future.
“We have done quite several things with the B&FT. For me, it has been a good relationship and what we are looking at next year is how best we can optimise that relationship,” he said.
Dr. Acquaye further articulated some of B&FT’s flagship events slated for next year, emphasising the company’s intentions to collaborate with Letshego in making it a success.
Providing details of some of the events for next year, he indicated that the Women in Business (WIB) will be held in Kumasi and they were looking forward to collaborating with financial institutions to offer financial assistance (grant, soft loan or any other form of sponsorship) to about 15 young women entrepreneurs.
Additionally, he shared highlights of the Youth Economic Forum, which will be focused on technology, featuring some awards to recognise young people who have developed innovative tech solutions.
Mr. Tetteh commended the B&FT for its flagship programmes and indicated that they are also embarking on a similar initiative like the WIB. Meanwhile, he assured the management of B&FT of considering possible collaboration after they had successfully laid out how to execute their programmes for the year.
Commenting on how 2024 has been for the company, Mr. Tetteh said it was quite tough but with guidance and direction, they have sailed through successfully, stressing that it didn’t happen by chance. However, he hopes that next year will get better.
Other members of the delegation were the Deputy Editor of B&FT, Bernard Yaw Ashiadey, and the Head of the Human Resources Department, Rhoda Mensah Ankrah, who commended Letshego for being part of the main sponsors of the 2024 Money Summit. “It was a plus to see Letshego Ghana Savings and Loans come on board for the Money Summit,” she said.
Earlier this year, Letshego partnered with B&FT as a corporate sponsor for The Money Summit programme.
