Absa Bank Ghana Limited, in partnership with the Ghana Communication Technology University, has announced the upcoming Business Ethics Network (BEN) Africa Conference.
The ethics-focused conference is slated to come off from 6th November 2024 to 8th November 2024 and aims at bringing together leaders and stakeholders from the private, public and non-profit sectors to elaborate and promote ethical business practices essential for long-term success and sustainable growth.
The BEN Africa conference will probe into the critical challenges of applying ethics in businesses of Africa; opportunities for leaders and organisations to champion ethical integrity in all aspects of businesses; and the role of moral integrity in advancing sustainable business practices in Africa.
Judith Haizel, Director of Compliance-Absa Bank Ghana Limited, underscored the importance of ethical practices and was optimistic that the BEN Africa conference will will help promote such practices.
She said: “Ethical practices are very important to us at Absa. They are an integral part of business, of leadership and key for sustainable growth; and I believe this conference will lead the way in promoting the agenda”.
Judith Haizel further encouraged that there is a need to make sure that businesses’ staff are continuously educated and made aware of ethical practices.
As an official sponsor of the conference, Absa reaffirmed its commitment to encouraging other organisations to lead with ethical principles.
Professor George Ampong, Dean-GCTU Business School, also expressed appreciation for the school’s privilege of being selected as host institution for the conference – noting that this step will have a positive impact on the school.
According to him, hosting the conference will encourage a healthy relationship between academia and industry experts.
“This step is very relevant for the school. Hosting this conference is an opportunity for bringing together academia and industry expects to share perspectives and ideas on building sustainable businesses.”
