Throughout the month of March, all and sundry can patronize any of the special designs dubbed the “Ghana Month Collection” under the campaign theme: “Me Fri Ghana”, to be able to showcase their pride and patriotism as Ghanaians.
Brands Manager, GTP Tex Styles Ghana Ltd., Reuben Sam, emphasised the brands commitment to highlighting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage through fashion as a key stakeholder in that sector of the economy.
Touching on the special designs, he mentioned that these tailored collections inspire hope, optimism, and patriotism to mark the country’s 67th independence anniversary.
He highlighted that about 11 patterns have been created with elements that link to the nation’s cultural heritage such as the black star, cowries and the cedi coin, among others in abstract forms.
“Since 1966, GTP has defined the Ghanaian fashion identity with pride and style. Our designs have always stemmed from our environment, the pride of our colors, and the diverse symbols that unite this nation. We are encouraging all lovers of original, genuine, and authentic Ghanaian textiles to wear GTP and proudly declare “Me Fri Ghana” with pride,” he said.
Mr. Sam stressed that GTP has painstakingly designed fabrics that resonate with every Ghanaian- both the youth and the aged therefore, everyone should be able to walk into any GTP retail shop to select their favourite without any stereotype of it being for the rich and matured only.
“Now, with these our designs, we intentionally added bold colours into the Nustyle category because the youth of today want to stand out and show their confidence in the various colours that they wear. So, in these fabrics, whichever style you want to pick to represent who you are, the opportunity is available. GTP is encouraging the youth to be assured that our prints are not only for the old women or matured population,” he emphasised.
Over the past years, the month of March has been celebrated as a month-long festival led by the media with variety of event, and programming to revel Ghana’s independence, especially food, music and tourist sites visits.
In commemoration of Ghana’s 67th Independence Day this year, GTP the nation’s premier textile company has created a special collection with a campaign themed Mefri Ghana.
