NDC NEC member graduates from University of Florida with MSc in Management

Lawyer Wonder Victor Kutor, a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the incoming ruling party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has successfully graduated with a Master of Science in Management from the University of Florida, USA.

The graduation ceremony took place on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the O’Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida.

Kutor was among 250 graduates, many of whom were students from the US and Europe. His achievement is particularly noteworthy given his demanding schedule, which required him to shuttle between the US and Ghana.

As a lawyer and former SRC president of the Ghana School of Law, Kutor is expected to leverage his new qualification to benefit both his country and his political party, which recently won an election with an overwhelming majority in Parliament.

In a telephone interview, Kutor expressed his delight at his latest academic achievement.

“It was not easy. I had to shuttle between the US and Ghana to be able to achieve this. I remember I had to leave campus and fly down to Ghana to attend a crucial NEC meeting in Adabraka. Also, I had to finish the course by October 2024 so I could be in Ghana throughout the final stages of the campaign. This means that I had to do more credit hours within a short period, but I thank God I passed all papers despite the difficulty,” he said.

Kutor also shared that he almost deferred the program at one point but persevered with the help of his faith. “At a point, I almost deferred the programme, but I give thanks to the almighty God who is the giver of life and health for the spirit of perseverance and resilience,” he added.

Kutor is also an alumnus of the University of Ghana and the University of London, where he studied sociology and law, respectively.

After Saturday’s graduation ceremony, he is expected back in Ghana on Monday, December 16, 2024.

Having played a key role in the NDC’s campaign ahead of the 2024 Parliamentary and Presidential elections, Kutor emphasized the importance of returning to Ghana to continue his work with the party as it navigates the transition process.
