Volkswagen Ghana, a market leader in the local automobile manufacturing industry, has officially unveiled its new addition to the fleet of locally assembled vehicles, the all-new Amarok, to serve the West African sub-region.
The new Amarok in design, is more than a truck and a statement. With a combination of thoughtful and innovative features, performance, and an interesting range of trim options, this vehicle is ready to shake up the pickup truck segment in Ghana.
The new Amarok is available in multiple equipment lines to cater to a range of applications. The trim lines include Amarok Double Cab, Style, Panamericana, Life and the range-topping Aventura – all with a four-motion (4×4) drivetrain.
Volkswagen is known for its innovative design, exceptional performance, and commitment to sustainability, and this new addition is nothing short of that.
At the heart of the new Amarok lies a potent four-cylinder engine paired with a smooth 10-speed automatic transmission. This powerful combination produces an impressive 154kW of power and a maximum 500Nm torque.
With a top speed of 180km/h and a fuel consumption of 7.5 litres/100km, the Amarok strikes the perfect balance between performance and efficiency.
The previous-generation Amarok set a high bar with its innovation and versatility, gaining widespread recognition in the subregion but this new model is destined to obviously outdo itself in both interior and exterior design and performance.
Sales Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa, Volkswagen Group Africa, Thando Oliphant, in a presentation, highlighted that the new Amarok’s premium character is underlined by features such as ambient lighting and a premium sound system.
Emphasising that what makes the new Amarok a real thoroughbred off-roader is the latest technology and more ride comfort it offers, such as state-of-the-art airbags and assistance systems.
The new Amarok boasts robust interior design and comfort, confident on the outside, functional and high-quality on the inside: it impresses with its sophisticated comfort, visible premium character and smart assistance systems,” he said.
Whether body, chassis, engine, or transmission variants -From the modified dimensions to the significantly greater wading depth everything is designed for off-road capability.
He added that fundamentally reimagined, the new Amarok defines Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ premium segment with its modern technology and redesigned styling.
The Managing Director of Volkswagen Ghana, Jeffrey Oppong Peprah, speaking at the launch, indicated that the Amarok is the latest Volkswagen model to be assembled at the Tema facility, joining existing models such as the Teramont, Tiguan Allspace, T-cross, and Virtus, among others.
He urged corporate entities and individuals looking for quality and best-performing vehicles to walk into the VW Ghana showroom or call its office lines for smooth, satisfactory customer service.
