President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has at a short ceremony in Accra presented 200 Toyota Camry saloon vehicles to the Ghana Police to assist them in their duties.
The presentation of the vehicles is in fulfillment of a pledge made by the President earlier this year to the police administration with the assurance that more of such resource to assist the police will be made in the coming months.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo noted that his administration will resource the police to help fight the crime situation in the country .
”Government will continue to mobilise whatever assistance it can to enable the Police provide the Ghanaian people, the kind of service they deserve.
He indicated that the government believes the most essential things for a nation are the peace and safety of its people and its territorial integrity.
“It is when these are guaranteed that its citizens can go about their normal lives in security and try to improve the quality of their circumstances,” the President said.
The President urged the Police to pay particular attention to the proper maintenance of these vehicles and use them to serve and protect the Ghanaian people. When the citizenry and police work together, we can be assured of our safety and security, and, then, we can channel all our energies and resources into building a progressive and prosperous nation.
