A Christian based group of businessmen – the mountain Builders Network – has positioned itself strategically in the Ashanti Regional capital Kumasi with a noble mission to guide businessmen along the path of entrepreneurship, business and financial empowerment.
The group meets monthly to share ideas; brainstorm on topical issues like goal setting, planning, financial management, entrepreneurship and business management.
The meetings which come off at the True Vine Hotel on the Last SATURDAYS of every month has also become a viable platform for networking and exhibiting of products and services at no cost to participants.
Its last meeting which focused on goal setting attracted the author and auditor of ‘The Gospel of Wealth Creation Abdulai Idrisu, website entrepreneur Attah Kusi and pastor of faith house ministries Pastor Osei Yaw Afoakwa.
Mr. Abdulai Idrisu shared basic principles in his book to inspire participants to operate ethically in their various areas of endeavour to achieve worthy ends.
He underscored the principle of giving; the Principle of reading books on wealth creation; Entrepreneurship and Problem Solving as critical pillars to creating thriving businesses.
Mr Idrisu also touched on the Principle of patients; the Principle of gratification and the need for Ghanaians to shun certification and embrace education to create value.
Reverend Osei Yaw Afoakwa who gave the key note address, delivered a message on kingdom keys for financial success.
He pointed out that the knowledge of the word of God expands faith, broadens people’s vision and spells out the purpose for wealth creation.
“Money in the hands of the philanthropist will feed thousands and money in the hands of a rebel will kill many,” he stated adding that “money is neither good nor bad but determined by the holder of the money.”
Rev. Afoakwah elucidated on the distinction between the law of favour and the law of labour disclosing that Kingdom riches is not earned but entrusted in the hands of good stewards.
He charged Christians to uphold Liberality, compassion for others, honesty, humility, faithfulness, consistency and dedication to excellence.
Speaking to Ultimate News on the sidelines of the program, Rev. Afoakwa commended the founders of the Mountain Builders Network Nelson Semanu Boandoh-Korkor and his wife Elizabeth Boandoh-Korkor for organising Christians along business themes and challenged them to look more towards the youth.
“If there is any great impact that such events are suppose to have, it should drive the young into initiating things, bringing the courage, boldness and dexterity in them to be able to take up challenges to shape the course of the nation ,” he beckoned.
Co founder of the Mountain Builders Network, Elizabeth Boandoh-Korkor was positive the monthly encounters have begun receiving significant commendation and life changing testimonies from participants.
She recounted, “The responses have been tremendous because we have had people tell us had it not been for these empowerment sessions, all hope was gone and I didn’t know how to start my business, and it’s been fulfilling.”
She told Ultimate News, “Our aim is to raise a generation that will not add up to the unemployed in Ghana but to see Christian businessmen, professionals and students who will be entrepreneurs for the kingdom and who will employ persons on the street,” she added.
Apart from the Mountain Builders Network, Nelson and Elizabeth are owners of EBLIZ Enterprise, Maa Abena’s Kitchen and a Fellowship called the Wisdom Empowerment Centre based in Kumasi.
They are also co-authors of ‘The Power of a Fighting Spirit’, ‘How to Set Goals and Achieve them with Ease, and ‘15 Remarkable Attitudes of Successful Entrepreneurs.’
