Domestic airline patrons, prospective passengers and corporate institutions who have since, longed for a safe, professional, comfortable and affordable service to the Northern regional capital, Tamale, now have a unique choice of flying Passion Air.
This is because, Ghanaian airline, Passion Air on Saturday September 28, 2018 welcomed to Ghana, its second aircraft at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra.
The 78-seater Bombadier Q400 with registration number 9G PIA is scheduled to ply the Accra-Tamale route starting Tuesday October 02, 2018.
Passion Air, in August 2018 started operations with its Accra-Kumasi flights, which has now increased from 42 to 62 flights per week.
Speaking to Ultimate Business at the official ceremony to welcome the aircraft, Distribution Manager for Passion Air, Ridwan Adamu mentioned that, the airline was pleased to honour its promise to the travelling populace and also for their patronage since August, when they started operations.
“Just about 5 weeks ago or on August 19 to be precise, we received our first aircraft which is currently operating the Accra-Kumasi route with an initial 42 flights per week which has increased to 62 flights weekly.”
“The acceptance of the Q 400 by the travelling public has been overwhelming and has encouraged us to bring in the second aircraft to further expand our domestic outreach”, he noted.
“Passengers have commended us for the aircraft comfort, ample baggage space, speed and as well as the professionalism of our experienced cabin crew and pilots.”
Ridwan Adamu added: “We have heard the clamour of the people of Tamale who are eagerly waiting for us to start the Tamale route and I’m thrilled to announce that our first commercial flight to Tamale will operate on Tuesday October 02, 2018.”
“We’ll start by offering two daily frequencies from Monday to Saturday and three return flights on Sunday, making a total of 30 flights per week. We pledge to increase the frequency to a total of 42 flights per week in the very near future”, the Passion Air Distribution Manager hinted.
Mr. Adamu further revealed that the airline will add to its fleet, another Bombadier Q400, by close of October 2018 to operate the Accra-Takoradi route.
He however urged passengers not to hesitate in sharing with Passion Air, ideas that could help them offer, a continuous great service and be better in the aviation hub.

The official ceremony was graced by dignitaries like renowned Ghanaian agronomist Dr. Michael Abu Sakara Foster, Managing Director of the Ghana Airport Company Limited, John Attafuah, management of Passion Air including Chief Executive Officer, Edward Annan, Commercial Manager, Anita Khoury, Sales and Marketing Manager, Samuel Abdul Razak Takyi, Financial Controller, Samuel Ato Hagan, some customers and the media.
