Three suspects have been arrested by the anti-armed robbery unit of the Ashanti regional police command for snatching a car in Obuasi.
The suspects were arrested on Wednesday May 16, 2018 at Anloga junction in Kumasi upon a tip off.
Investigations revealed that on Monday May 14, 2018, the suspects Yaw Mensah alias ‘Fresh’ an ex-convict, David Gyamfi a.k.a ‘soldier’ and Maxwell Nyarko alias ‘Vapour’ hired the services of Maxwell Sarkodie a taxi driver, driving a Toyota corolla taxi cab in Obuasi to Asonkore.

The leader of the group Yaw Mensah pointed a knife at the driver and ordered him to give the car keys to them of which he obliged.
One of the suspects David Gyamfi then became the driver.
They took the driver to a different location where they bundled his legs, arms and mouth with cello tape.

‘The three suspects are now in police custody assisting in investigations,’ he said.
