The former President John Dramani Mahama has entreated members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) not to insult former President Jerry John Rawlings.
He said they can criticize him if they disagree with some of his comments, but not to insult his person saying he still remains the party’s founder and must be accorded the needed respect.
“I want to talk about our Founder. You might not like something he says or an action he is taking. You might disagree with his views but do not insult his person. You can criticize him if you disagree with some of his comments, but please do not insult his person,’ Mr Mahama told NDC supporters over the weekend during the party’s Unity Walk in Wa in the Upper West region.
NDC supporters in recent times have criticised Mr Rawlings for being mute about the Akufo-Addo’s government but was always quick to blast the Mills and Mahama administrations.
Mr Mahama further called on NDC supporters to work hard to unseat the Akufo-Addo’s government come 2020 general elections.
