The Former President John Dramani Mahama and the ex-Chief of Staff Julius Debrah today (Wednesday) paid a visit to the Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho at the police headquarters in Accra.
They were accompanied by some members of the NDC.
Some members of NDC who attempted to enter the premises of the police headquarters were denied access. They stood at the facility’s gate chanting.
Mr Anyidoho has been kept in custody pending further investigation into his case.
Mr Anyidoho was yesterday (Tuesday) charged with treason following his comments in an interview with Accra-based Happy FM that there will be a civilian coup to remove the Akufo-Addo’s government.
He said the civilian coup will be borne out of the US -Ghana military deal which was ratified by Parliament on March 24, 2018.
‘There will be a civilian coup d’etat. There will be a social revolution and the movement is starting on Wednesday,’ Mr Anyidoho said.
The party has threatened to go to court if Mr Anyidoho is not released tomorrow (Thursday).
