The Former President John Dramani Mahama has thrown his weight behind the ongoing protest against the US-Ghana military pact in Accra.
The groups demonstrating include members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ghana First Patriotic Front (GFPF) among others.
‘I join in declaring #GhanaFirst as my compatriots and other democratic forces converge to demonstrate their opposition to the Ghana/US military agreement,’ Mr Mahama tweeted.
The groups begun the demonstration from the Obra Spot in Accra before moving to some principal streets accompanied by heavy security personnel.
The Deputy General Secretary of NDC Koku Anyidoho was yesterday (Tuesday) charged with treason after he said in an interview with Accra-based Happy FM that there will be a civilian coup to remove the Akufo-Addo’s government.
‘There will be a civilian coup d’etat. There will be a social revolution and the movement is starting on Wednesday,’ Mr Anyidoho said.
