International Evangelist, Rev. Canon Dr. Lawrence Tetteh has advised Ghanaians to stop being judgmental about each other and accept Jesus Christ as their saviour by repenting form their sins.
According to him, no one can say he/she has never sinned before and that they should desist from backbiting and destroying themselves.
Dr Tetteh said people just criticised and hate others without any justification.
He observed that majority of Ghanaians find pleasure in pulling down their neighbours, colleagues down just to win some sort of favours.
He wondered why musicians, politicians and pastors have been destroying their fellow human beings just to score cheap spiritual or political points.
Preaching during Ebony Reign’s final funeral rites at the State House in Accra on Saturday, Dr. Lawrence Tetteh warned celebrities to stop capitalising on the dancehall diva’s death to score superiority points describing it as ‘shameful’ the rivalry between Ghanaian musicians.
‘We are developing an attitude in Ghana that will not develop us as a nation. We are becoming too judgmental. And we are capitalizing on people’s pain to either score spiritual, political or superiority points, and that is not wrong. We are becoming so judgmental to the extent that even pastors in Ghana who didn’t think Lawrence Tetteh shouldn’t be identified with this, (funeral), so who should do it,…Hold somebody’s hands and ask have you sinned before?.
‘Some of you, you came here sinning, as you are seated, you are still sinning, you are backbiting, you are destroying. Today, lawyers are destroying lawyers, pastors are destroying pastors, politicians are destroying politicians, as a matter of fact, everybody is destroying somebody. And its not good, hold somebody and tell him/her, stop, its not right, its not fair, its not acceptable… Some musicians have become competitive destroying themselves, who has not sinned before,’ he advised.
Thousands of people including politicians, musicians, pastors, traditional leaders, her fans thronged to the burial service grounds to commiserate with her family.
Ebony was always criticised by some people over her dress code and lyrics.
Dr Tetteh preached the gospel to Ebony four days to her death.
Ebony and two others died on February 8, 2018 on the Sunyani road.
